    Digital Media is a simulation of a Video Production agency based in Tokyo. You have to get a job there by making a self-introduction video, then work in teams to create:

    1. A Public Service Announcement (PSA) about Japan for visiting foreigners.
    2. A short video for a conference to present data about math or science.
    3. A short persuasive video to change people's minds about society or politics.

  • Digital Literacies developls skills to interact, survive and suceed on the Internet in English. We work with 5 different literacies: Attention (drawing and paying) and Crap Detection (finding lies). Then we work to develop relationships online with Participation (joining groups), Collaboration (working together) and Net Smart (network function).

  • ST1Logo13 Society Today 1 (ST1) is a required 3rd year course for Showa Women's University students in the English Department. This semester, Groups 3&4 are studying this course. In this course we use the "Workshop Method" where students choose different modules to study about Society in English. You can work alone or in small groups. The primary goals for this course are to communicate and work in English on cutural topics of Education, Ecology, Technology and Sex. We work to build skills for autonomous learning so students can continue learning English outside of the classroom and after you graduate.

  • CT1 Logo Cuture Today 1 is a third-year required skills course at Showa Women's University. This semester, Group 1 is studying this course. In this course we use the "Workshop Method" where students choose different modules to study about Culture in English.
