Kevin Ryan's Professional Pursuits

Kevin has been a full-time assistant/associate professor (sennin koushi, then jokyouju) at Showa Women's University in Sangenjaya, Tokyo for the last 12 years. He teaches mostly writing, with and without computers. The students at Showa are hardworking and interested in learning English. Before Showa he taught English as a Foreign Language (EFL) in Nanjing, Chicago and Barcelona. He has also written manuals for EEGs and EKGs, run a consortium of English schools, developed curriculum and written tests, lectured, coordinated intercultural seminars and counseled for study abroad.

Non-paying Hobbies:

He is Past President of the Tokyo PC User's Group, 160 people helping each other operate their IBM compatible machines. He is also former Chair of the JALT CALL SIG with 300 teachers trying to figure out how to best use computers for language learning.
