Let's make a presentation

  1. Open Power Point
  2. Choose TEMPLATE
  3. Select Meadow
  4. Open top left template (title)

Slide 1 The Title Screen

  1. Title: Type (or copy from here) Tomei Groups
  2. Subtitle: Type (or copy) Third-year students get together
  3. (next line) You may be surprised what happens
  4. Highlight SURPRISED, make it Shadow for effect (S next to Bold and Italic).

Slide 2

  1. Select New Slide from Common Tasks
  2. Choose top, second-from-left layout
  3. Title: Groups result from meetings
  4. Content: Meeting Places
  5. Next line, TAB, then Classes
  6. Next line, then Meals
  7. Next line, Ceremonies
  8. Next line, Left Arrow (Promote), Rooms

Slide 3

  1. Select New Slide from Common Tasks
  2. Choose top, third-from-left layout
  3. Title: Informal meetings
  4. Content for left-hand box: (You type in or copy from here)
  5.     Before and after official meetings
  6.         Waiting
  7.         Take a shower
  8.         Watch TV
  9. RIGHT CLICK ON edge of right-hand box (empty one)
  10. Choose CUT from menu
  11. Click on Insert Picture Icon (looks like: )
  12. Choose snack.jpg from list of files (ask Kevin if you can't find the file)
  13. Resize, reposition picture on screen

Slide 4

  1. Select New Slide from Common Tasks
  2. Choose top, third-from-left layout
  3. Title: From Groups to Friends
  4. Content for left-hand box: (You type in or copy from here)
  5. People meet new people
  6. The find a wider variety of people
  7. They make new assessments on who can be friends
  8. They have fun
  9. RIGHT CLICK ON edge of right-hand box (empty one)
  10. Choose CUT from menu
  11. Go to INSERT Menu, Choose Movies and Sounds, then Movie from File
  13. Choose Picasso.mpg from the menu

Finishing up

  1. Save your Presentation: File Menu, Save As
  2. Type in new file name (Example: Groups Gordon)
  3. Click on Save button

  2. Slide sorter View: Click once on first slide (If time, add transitions and Effects)
  3. Slide Show view: Run the slide show (If time, use pointer and pen)
